Our dinner was held at Drury Lane. It was a rousing evening!
The keynote speaker was Wisconsin organizer and author John Nichols - author of The Uprising - the story of the ongoing protest and solidarity movement in Wisconsin and beyond.
An additional speaker was one of my favorite local Progressives, Christine Cegelis, on behalf of the A.D.A.
I was also awarded Democratic Precinct Committeeman of the year for York Township, and spoke briefly.
It was wonderful to be in the comforting presence of over 150 fellow Democrats. It was great for raising the spirits.
However, our work is far from done. There is no room for complacency in any Democrat anywhere in the country, let alone DuPage County, IL.
There is a primary election this Tuesday, and a general election this November that may well determine whether our way of life and even our planet as we know them continue to exist.
Corporatism is on every front spending vast amounts of money to hire cronies and mouthpieces who attack civil society, education, the environment, and the roots of all our hopes for an advanced, creative, prosperous, and sustainable future.
We MUST fill our government at every level from dog-catcher to president with people who support our hopes and goals for the future.
All the best, if you work and vote for it,
Dan
