At a June 25 town hall meeting in Oswego, my opponent stated that "Those people probably don't have jobs." when confronted with a bulliten board filled with pleas for help from people facing medical bills that they could not afford. His attitude is consistent with that of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who on Fox News Sunday on July 1 gave a similarly dismissive response when pressed by Chris Wallace about the fate of the 30 million people who would otherwise have been newly covered under the Affordable Care Act, were the Act to be repealed.  "That is not the issue," McConnell stated.

Mr. Hultgren's response reveals not only that he is out of touch with the obstacles faced by millions of Americans in obtaining and paying for health care, but two other truths as well.  First, and sadly, is the fact that for most people in the U.S., having health insurance is tied to employment.  The second and even sadder truth is the dismissive attitude of the far right toward the needs of ordinary citizens.

Your contribution of $50 to my campaign via  will go far toward changing things in Washington.

I cannot do it without your support.  It's time for a Representative in Congress who will put people first.

Thank You,

Dennis Anderson
Democratic Candidate
14th Congressional District
