Everything appears to be on sale these days — including our democracy.  But we've been sold a bill of goods — our democracy can't work if corporations and wealthy individuals can buy our elections, dictate our public policy, and overturn our laws.  It doesn't have to be this way. Last week, Rep. Rick Nolan (MN) introduced Move to Amend's "We the People Amendment" in Congress - House Joint Resolution 29. At long last, both core doctrines undermining our democracy will be considered as one amendment!  The "We the People Amendment" has little chance of passage until we finish building the movement that will force Congress to act. Only an organized and engaged public can counter the effects of "corporate constitutional rights" and "money is speech." Move to Amend's strategy is to build a grassroots movement to force Washington DC to obey the will of the people — not big money.
