Next Wednesday, I'm heading to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to attend the court hearing for the lawsuit that the state of Louisiana has brought against MoveOn over our campaign to expand health care access for millions of low income Americans. Being sued like this is unprecedented in MoveOn's 16-year history.
I'm immensely proud of the years of work that MoveOn members like you have put into ensuring that all Americans have access to health care. And I'd like you there with me in Baton Rouge.
No, no—I'm not asking you to fly to Baton Rouge. (Though that would be fun!)
I am asking you to join me in standing up to Republican bullies—and make it clear that you won't be silenced in the fight for health care for all.
Add your name to our statement of support—say you won't back down to bullies and you won't be silenced in the fight for health care for all.
We'll print your name—and the names of tens of thousands of other MoveOn members—on a banner that we'll display outside the court house after the hearing on Wednesday. We'll show the country that there's a movement of 8 million progressives that sticks together and stands up to any attempt to silence us.
National reporters have been covering this story, and we're expecting more news coverage after the judge issues a decision next Wednesday—will you add your name so that we can show how strong our movement is?
It'll help to know you'll be standing with me in Baton Rouge next week.
Thanks for all you do.

P.S. Here's a quick recap of the situation:
Republican governors—like Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Scott Walker—and GOP state legislators are denying health care for 5 million low income Americans by blocking the expansion of Medicaid in their states—a key provision of the Affordable Care Act.
MoveOn members chipped in to put up billboards in nine states to call out these governors for their spiteful positions. We must have hit a nerve—in Louisiana, the lieutenant governor sued MoveOn, insisting we take down the billboard that criticizes Governor Bobby Jindal.
We haven't taken down the billboard, and a judge will hear the case next Wednesday. Will you add your name to say that you won't be bullied into silence in the fight for health care for all?
Want to support our work? MoveOn Civic Action is entirely funded by our 8 million members—no corporate contributions, no big checks from CEOs. And our tiny staff ensures that small contributions go a long way. Chip in here.
