| New Report: Lifting the Veil on Bicycle and Pedestrian Spending | Each year, $37 billion is allocated to states for transportation projects. How much of your state's sum will go towards making biking and walking better? That's the question the Advocacy Advance team set out to answer with their new report, Lifting the Veil on Bicycle and Pedestrian Spending. Lifting the Veil examines Statewide Transportation Improvement Programs, or STIPs. At their most basic, STIPs are budget documents that express how states plan to spend federal transportation funds for the next four years. They can tell us a lot about how state governments prioritize their dollars and what types of projects states plan to build. |

The Alliance's report combines many disparate data sources into a single accessible book - making it an essential resource for advocates, decision makers, and reporters. |

| Navigating MAP-21 Workshop Locations Announced | Advocacy Advance - a partnership of the Alliance and the League of American Bicyclists - provides public officials, advocates, elected officials, and community members with tools to access untapped or under-utilized federal active transportation funding. With a focus on the newest transportation bill, Navigating MAP-21 Workshops set communities up to maximize public funding for biking and walking.
