Daily Kos Special Coverage |
Daniel, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid adjourned the Senate last night, bringing the 113th Congress to a close. This Congress was mostly terrible, but there was one big bright spot: Judicial nominations. President Obama has put more judges on the bench than Presidents Bush, Clinton, or Reagan had at this point in their terms. He's reshaped the bench by putting more women, people of color, and members of the LGBT community on the bench than ever before. And it wouldn't have happened without you. Reforming the filibuster was an idea conceived by a Daily Kos blogger named David Waldman, it was a campaign incubated by the netroots, and it was a fight we won thanks to people like you calling and writing their Democratic senators over and over again until we won. President Obama couldn't have appointed all these judges without your work to reform the filibuster. Thank you for fighting with us. Here's some of the news you may have missed about this victory that you (and Ted Cruz!) made possible: Thanks for all you do, The Daily Kos team |
