Outsourcing the War on Whistleblowers

Two of the federal government's largest contractors make their employees sign away their rights to report fraud, waste and abuse on federal contracts and grants. Court Overturns Rare Challenge of SEC-Wall St. Settlement

A U.S. appeals court told U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff that he overstepped his bounds when he objected to the standard way the Securities and Exchange Commission deals with wrongdoing on Wall Street. In 2011, Rakoff criticized a $285 million settlement between the SEC and Citigroup calling it "neither fair, nor reasonable, nor adequate, nor in the public interest." Read more on POGO's blog.
