Sometimes the reality of a harsh economy or sudden emergency is that families need a little help keeping food on the table and their kids healthy and happy. »

Whether someone has lost their job, are facing a health crisis that is draining money, or have otherwise come up against our struggling economy, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) often plays a vital role in keeping food available until families can get back on their feet. And with more families than ever getting hit hard by the economy, today that kind of help is more important than ever.

But Congress doesn't seem to understand the plight of hardworking families; Instead of strengthening programs that help more children, seniors, and low-income families access nutritious food, Congress wants to cut SNAP by $36 billion. »

That kind of devastating cut would leave kids across America hungry and wondering where their next meal will come from.

America needs SNAP benefits to keep families on their feet. Tell Congress to support SNAP rather than cutting benefits for people struggling with hunger. »
